Dr. Mark Rutley is a native Californian. He was born at Camp Pendleton, a few miles north of San Diego, and grew up in Northern California. He attended San Diego State University where he distinguished himself in both academics and athletics. He was vice president of the SDSU Dental Club. A letterman on the football team, he was the recipient of an award for outstanding performance.
